what is all this "years waiting" crap?the last volume only came out a few months ago...had it come out more than two years ago i'd be inclined to agree.that said i'd expect volume 4 next year, and volume 5 in either 2005 or 2006

Never the less, DC Comics has been a little too slow on reprinting Captain Marvel's Golden Age stories. Shazam! Archives volume 1 came out in 1992 (with a second printing out in 1999), volume 2 in 1999, and volume 3 just coming out at the last quarter of 2002. Three Shazam! Archive volumes in a 10 year span is way to slow in my opinion.

I agree with dadkrel!

I'm mostly happy with the selection and quantity of archives we're getting lately but I would like to see Shazam! come out on a yearly basis similar to Plastic Man.

Those are the best two GA lines going for me! All Star, Batman and Superman are all interesting from a historical stand-point but are a bit hard to get through some times. All Star is certainly showing signs of improving.

Back to CM, there is a tremendous amount of work that should be archived - Whiz, CM, CM jr., CM Family, Mary Marvel, etc. Even on a yearly schedule, we won't make much more than a dent in the collection for 10 years.

In my opinion too. Especially since Cap's golden age stories easily surpass most of the other stuff DC has archived from the period (Superman, All Star, Flash, GL, Black Canary, Starman, etc.) There's a reason Cap was called "the greatest superhero of them all in "All in Color For a Dime."

And I assume by the votes that Cap and the Marvel Family in general garner in the annual Archives Survey that there is a solid fanbase waiting for more Cap. So hurry up, DC!

My master is right. Get with the program, DC! I don't see why Plastic Man gets to be an annual event while Shazam! is a once-in-a-blue-moon kind of deal. Honestly...

It's worse when you recall Owen's or Steve's or whomever's maps. THIRTY-SEVEN VOLUMES for Cap alone!! About that many for Junior, Mary, and the Family! Holey Moley, you'd need to be the World's Mightiest IMmortal to read these things at the rate DC issues 'em.

Let's get cracking, team! Even at an annual rate, I'll be past 75 when Cap wraps!

If DC gets past 20 DCU Archives a year (and I think they will by 2010 or so), I'll enthusiastically support an annual Shazam! slot and another devoted to a rotation of the other Marvel Family features.
Till then, I'd hope that we get at least a Shazam! volume every two years, plus at least first volumes each of Junior, Mary, and the Family.
